Code of Conduct

We want everyone who comes to WASD to have a good time. That includes visitors, exhibitors and organisers. Literally everyone. To make sure that happens we’ve come up with some guidelines that we’d like you to follow.

  • Be a decent person. Ideally you should know what this means already.

  • Give everyone a chance to play. We reckon 15 minutes max is a good amount of time to play a game before moving on.

  • Be respectful of other people and don’t give them unwanted attention. We treat this very seriously. Please refer to our anti harassment policy below.

  • Don’t take drugs or get really drunk. It’s not that kind of show and one of those things is illegal.

  • It’s fine to take pictures and film at the event but if an exhibitor asks you not to film their game, please listen to them.

  • Cosplayers are welcome at WASD but please don’t bring weapons with metal blades or anything that can fire a projectile.

If you behave badly at the event then our security will ask you to leave. If you’ve done something illegal then we’ll also call the police.

We have a zero tolerance policy to any kind of harassment. Harassment consists of any unwanted conduct that violates an individual’s dignity or constitutes victimisation, or which creates an intimidating, bullying, abusive, hostile, degrading, humiliating, offensive or otherwise uncomfortable environment.

This includes harassment related to the protected characteristics of sex, race, national origin, ethnic origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief.

It can involve a single incident or may be persistent and may be directed towards one or more individuals.

This behaviour will not be tolerated at any WASD event and if you show any form of this behaviour, or behave badly, you will be immediately excluded from the show and banned from future WASD & Roucan events.

If you’d like to report someone else’s bad behaviour or have any concerns, then please speak to a WASD staff member or come to the Organiser’s Office.

Other things you should know

  • We can refuse entry to the event on any reasonable grounds.

  • Security will be searching bags at the entrance and exit.

  • Some games will be 18 rated and only those aged 18 or over will be able to play them.

  • We’ll do our best to make sure that the playable games and talks you see listed on the website make it to the event. Last minute changes are always likely though and if that happens we’ll let you know.

  • It’s possible that you’ll appear in photos or videos taken at the event that are then used for W.A.S.D marketing purposes.
